How To Add Apps To Sony Dvd Player

A country must be selected to view content in this article.

Learn about Netflix features on your Sony TV or Blu-ray player, and how to set up and sign out of your account. If you don't know if Netflix works on your device, follow the steps in the "Set Up Netflix" section.

Netflix is available on many Sony devices, including Sony Android TVs and Sony Google TVs.

Supported regions

Netflix is available worldwide. Most devices will work wherever Netflix is available, but some older devices will only work in the country where they were purchased. If you're considering buying a new device, check with the manufacturer to see if it supports Netflix in your region.

Older devices may ask you to go to netflix.com/activate to set up your device. These devices only support Netflix in the United States and Canada.

Navigation

On most devices, you can browse through rows of TV shows and movies, including a row dedicated to your My List selections. Each row represents a category (for example, comedies or dramas) that we present to you based on what you've watched.

Older devices may not have rows of categories, but do allow you to scroll through My List, which you can create using the Netflix website.

Resolution

Most devices can stream Netflix in high definition on fast internet connections and will play Netflix in their maximum supported resolution.

Parental controls

You can set parental controls on individual Netflix profiles.

Subtitles & alternate audio

Learn how to turn on subtitles, closed captions, and alternate audio (including 5.1 surround sound), which are available on many TV shows and movies. To check if 5.1 audio works on your device, go to any Netflix original to see if there is a 5.1 audio option. If not, this feature doesn't work on your device. You can customize the appearance of subtitles and captions on many devices. Devices that don't support customization will show subtitles and captions in their default appearance.

On some devices, you can also stream select titles with Dolby Atmos audio, including the models below.

  • Sony BRAVIA Android TVs (2018 or newer models)

Picture adjustments
Select 2018 or newer Sony TV models have a Netflix Calibrated Mode so you can watch Netflix in the originally intended picture quality. Netflix Calibrated Mode can be turned on by going to your TV settings, selecting modes, and then turning the setting on.
